I followed them on Twitter and saw the reviews and was kind of excited to try these out.
It was Fathers Day (Sunday) which probably didn't make the line any shorter but we probably waited close to 20-30 minutes. We drove from NoDa so we weren't about to go home empty handed.
It's great that they used ingredients that are fairly local but the doughnuts were marginal. We order 4 so we could eat two in the shop and two later. Since they were warm, we excused the filling for being a gooey mess. The doughnuts were large which is good when you're dropping $3-$3.50 on each but it was too sweet - and I love sugar.
I ate the other doughnut about 5 hours later and it was still a gusher. Just too much of a mess and way too sweet.
The shop looks great, the people seemed nice and there seemed to be a lot of repeat customers but this place just isn't for me.
