One of these days I'm expecting to read in the news that all Swiss Chalet restaurants have closed up. They're an odd restaurant. A lot of people love them, but they're the type of chain restaurant that seems to have a client base just based on them being there. If they up and disappeared one day, no one would notice or care.
Don't get me wrong, I like Swiss Chalet. It's good. It's pretty tasty, the fries despite always being kind of soggy are enjoyable for some reason and the chalet sauce is actually pretty tasty. This location in particular is not bad. I've been a couple times and service is always fairly punctual and the food hot and arrives quickly.
The atmosphere isn't really there, and frankly, I wouldn't expect it to be from a Swiss Chalet, although this location in particular is fairly cavernous. Maybe make it a bit more like Baton Rouge, although they themselves are also fairly cavernous at times.
Pretty much what you'd expect from a Swiss Chalet. Not bad, not great. I go because every now and again, I get a craving for rotisserie chicken.
