| - We ordered Com tam, pho and spring rolls. The food was amazing. This place is literally a hole in the wall. I was not expecting stellar service but reading the reviews online, I was certain this place would be a gem. Its small, cluttered and the decor is what you would expect from a hole in the wall. I didn't come here for their amazing bathrooms or pretty displays, though. It was 13 degrees outside...I wanted some pho!
The com tam came with a big pork chop, two fried eggs, some veggies and some sliced pork. It came with a nuoc cham (dipping sauce) that my girlfriend loved! After she ate all of I told her it was made with fish sauce but she still loved it.
The pho was some of the best I have ever had! The broth was fragrant and subtle. There was tons of meat in the dish, too. They only had three types of pho, which was disappointing. But it was simply delicious. The brought over the condiments and veggies. The only thing they did wrong was not bring the sliced chili peppers along with the soup. After a generous portion of chili oil, my soup still needed some bite. I asked the employee for chili and he brought it immediately.
The spring rolls were awesome, too. They were smaller than other places we've been but they had a ton of shredded pork in them. I actually like the smaller size anyway because they were easier to eat.
I'm not a vegetarian but they had a vegetarian menu that was just as large as the regular menu.
Finally, the price was right. Everything was about 20% cheaper than other Vietnamese restaurants we've been to. I would have liked more selection of the types of meat in the pho, but the one I had was the best I've ever had.
