  • I love the midwives here. They come in to the room, discuss, and then ask if you have questions, and then ACTUALLY LOOK AT YOUR FACE AND WAIT FOR YOUR QUESTION, not just use that as a segue while dashing out. All five of them. The first couple of times, I was really caught by surprise. The midwives are available to talk to any time by phone when your labor starts and will be on hand to coach you and answer all questions during labor. For any questions after hours, you can call a dedicated phone number and get assistance from them directly. Because if you call the regular nurse lines, you'll probably never get a call back for at least four hours, especially if you have a question that is urgent but not enough to go to the ER. Even a regular appointment call takes 29 min on hold and 1 min to talk to the office. For the number of doctors and patients they service, they could use the help of a few more front office staff. I go to them for the awesome midwives and can just about tolerate the phone situation. On a separate note, they keep sending you estimates of future service fees, and keep bugging you to pay "toward your balance" even before service is rendered. I refused to pay $2000 for exactly one half months of visits and tests (baby came mid Feb) until I had an actual bill with the correct numbers. So far nothing other than frequent warnings that this was going to collections. In hind sight, I wish I had saved the estimates to prove they were not actual bills. UPDATE: the situation was resolved when insurance settled all actual itemized bills.
