In April 2016 I had a major mile stone service done on my FJ. Including the brake system being flushed. So imagine my surprise when I got a phone call on Friday, September 1st 2017 letting me know that my brake fluid really needed attention and it would be another $169.99 to have my brake fluid flushed. Again. I advised the service writer that I had just had this service completed, by the same Autonation Toyota service department, less than a year and a half before. (Not that it should matter, they can see all work that was done by any Toyota dealer anywhere in their computer systems) I also advised them that it is generally recommended to have that service done every 3 years or 50,0000 miles. Neither of which milestone I was anywhere near, and asked if they had really done the work I paid them to do - flushing my brake fluid - a year and three months prior. The service writer got very quite and tried making an excuse before saying he would have them recheck that. I asked him to go ahead and recheck that. Which they obviously didn't do, because I compared my paperwork from this last visit to the one prior and in less than 10,000 miles my brake system went from green to yellow on the inspection sheet. I drive 5 miles each way to work and don't get on the freeway to get there. I can also pull up my account on Toyota.com and see all the work I've supposedly paid to have done and keep a file with all receipts from my visits. I really question the integrity of this service department. And I want any woman who takes their car here for service to know that it would be in their best interest to know what is going on with their car so they don't get taken advantage of. Obviously the service writer wasn't expecting a woman who knew her car, what services she has had completed and how often it was recommended when he called me. Because he wouldn't have tried to pull this trick on me if he knew that - or if I was a man.
