I originally went in for teeth cleaning but Dr. Reynolds also suggested a heart check up because he heard murmurs.
I was expecting to pay $230 for the teeth cleaning and did not expect it to cost $800. When I reviewed the itemized pricing, I noticed the Dr tried to charge me $57 for the free consultation. I confronted him about that and he said he would waive it. It also costs $175 for the heart check up.
Because of the urgency regarding the heart murmur, i got the service done there. Turns out, my dog's heart was fine. I just need to "monitor" her heart at the next check up. At this point i became skeptical about his practice and decided to decline the teeth cleaning so i can take my dog else where which i'm glad i did because I found that Craig Road Animal Hospital charges $147 for teeth cleaning and that there are tons of groupons where you can pay $149 at other clinics.
When it came time to pay, I had to remind the front desk that I am a member of the military, but the lady already charged me and she tried to find an excuse not to give me the discount by saying i wasn't charged for the consultation. I responded by saying i shouldn't have been charged in the first place because it's supposed to be free. She then asked me for proof of being in the military. I gladly showed her my CAC card and she finally reversed the charges so she can apply the discount.
Lastly, I asked for a copy of my dogs medical records. When, I reviewed the information, I noticed they got the gender of my dog incorrect.
So annoying!
