| - Really perfect venue with some incredible music if you hit it right. Live music tends to go two ways: battered shoes, a skein of alien sweat, and a bib of dried beer -*or*- boredom, mild embarrassment, and uncertain limb placements. Neither way here.
I came to Poetry with low expectations, and only went in because I eyeballed my friend into paying the $5 cover for a 3 piece from Chicago. We got a tiny table and by 40 minutes in were standing up, open mouthed grinning, shouting call-backs and wiggling with a cozy crowd.
PATiOn the back
The nice thing about Poetry is that if you want to just talk during sets, it also has a romantic little back patio of little wood tables, plants, and, candles.
