| - you don't really need me to yelp about this place...but i will anyway. great all-in-one inclusive resort, lovely, & a great deal!
the perfect relaxing retreat after 3 days of road trips, desert, & dust. what's great about the fairmont princess is it has everything you need:
-love the multi-fur rug in the lobby! lita @ the front desk was really great & covered all of our needs & questions extremely well.
-they drive u to ur room in a golf cart, & the guy who took us was really cool, opened the drapes, turned on relaxing music, & really set the mood to enhance the room's atmosphere.
-a great, modern, clean, beautiful room with a spacious hallway, awesome bathroom, & lovely patio. we were facing the lagoon but shaded by trees with purple flowers! felt very comfortable & at home.
-the only gross thing was that the pillows on our bed had an awful stench. it took over an hour for housekeeping to bring new ones, & betty who answered the phone @ housekeeping was really really rude. bummer.
-lovely grounds to walk around: the lagoon, fountains, spacious areas to walk, & lovely saguaros & landscaping that set a beautiful background for ur adventures.
-great food!!! we loved the grill @ the golf course. food was deeeelicious (get everything!!! sonoma free range half chicken mmmmm, scallops, fried green tomatoes), really nice & comfortable decor, ok service (hostess was really rude). i enjoyed the food more than at michael mina's bourbon steak house: the steak was not that great (note: the steaks are humongous, so i'd split them), the service is a little fake (except the sweet manager who paid us a personal visit & seemed very sincere), but the soy-glazed shiitake sides & free duck fat fries were yummmm!!! however, @ bourbon steak everything is really fatty, buttery, & noticeably so.
-great selection of pools with an assortment of seating, hammocks, & lounging areas. love the sonoran splash; the water slides provided an extra level of fun, & the shallow area was so pleasant.
i think the only hotels better than this are the royal palms, phoenician, & camelback inn?? not sure, but i'd love to try one of the others next time! otherwise, we got a great deal here @ the fairmont for $120 on hotels.com :)))
