Two years ago I went in to pick up some P-tex sticks to repair my base. None in the shop according to the kid up front, and I have to drive to the other store in Mesa. Found them at Sport Chalet instead.
Went in last Friday morning to get some wax to tune up for the weekend. Guess what? No cold-weather wax in stock during early January. Without bothering to call to check stock, someone says I can drive to the other store. I ask to see the manager. All I get from him is a rather unapologetic "sorry." I said that I agreed that it was "sorry" that a ski shop doesn't have a small, inexpensive, essential, and non-perishable item like board wax in stock, and I am wondering why I bothered to come down to the shop. He just turns on his heel and walks away to the back without another word.
Why would anyone pay for gas and waste their time to drive to a shop to pay full retail with inventory management and customer service like that? I sure won't ever make another trip to this shop, and you shouldn't either. Find it for less somewhere on-line, save paying the sales tax, and have it delivered to your door.
