  • So first I want to say that we are so sorry for the losses the zoo has faced this year because of the flood. It is heartbreaking indeed. Now for the review: It was our first visit and we were disappointed. In part because the majority of the zoo is closed due to the flood so the only parts we got to see is the Canadian animals and the fake dinosaurs. Do not get me wrong we love Canadian animals or animals from the north indeed and found the walk through the dinosaur land entertaining. We did not find the price of the exhibit worth it. We realize that it is helping to fund the repairs so it went to a good cause BUT they would not honor any coupons or brochures that were printed prior to the flood which I find poor business. We went to the zoo because of a coupon we saw at our hotel. And to not have it honored was disappointing. They said the price is already reduced because of the flood and therefore they could not give us the discount. Oddly enough, what you get for the ticket price is also heavily reduced so in reality honoring the discount would have been the same regardless of the new price. More than half the park is closed and the price was reduced by only half. Also they have reprinted all of the signage so to someone not familiar with the old price we did not know the difference and could not understand why they would not honor their own promotions. Maybe they should have reprinted their brochures? Anyhow, at the end of the day it is a good cause. And I am Canadian so I hate to say anything negative about my homeland experiences. Just be prepared for spending $10 a head regardless of age to see the animals all Canadians know and love and probably have seen in our backyards or on the highway lol. The exotic animals are all gone.
