| - Strangely enough, I saw two concerts here when I was a poor volunteer living in Cleveland. First, I saw Ozomatli with Ben Harper opening--or Ben Harper with Ozomatli opening. Later in the year, I saw No Doubt.
It was still called Nautica Stage at the time, and that's a pretty good name for the place because there's not much more than a stage. The entirety of the small bank of seats they have is pretty close to the stage (I sat near the last row at the first concert I attended here), and the floor can be pretty chaotic, as security doesn't do a whole lot.
When I saw No Doubt here, I brought my neighbor's twelve-year-old daughter with me. It was cool to bring someone to her first concert, but we were standing on the floor, so I had to kind of keep my elbows sharp to prevent her from getting smashed.
The view of the bridges and the weird semi-abandoned brick buildings is pretty spectacular. Both times I was here, there were Christmas-looking lights in one of the buildings, and it looked like people were actually inside enjoying the concert. I don't know if that was actually going on, but that might be cool.
My three-star rating is pretty generous considering how much I hate the Flats, but if there's a band you really want to see, this is a great place to see them in a semi-intimate setting.
