I booked a room here as it happened to be the venue for my friend's wedding.
Two stars solely for the staff that helped make his wedding day a success and memorable occasion. They were attentive, kind, and courteous. I was impressed at how they accommodated the entire wedding and did an awesome job.
The reason why I knocked off three stars was mainly for the accommodations. The hotel rooms are sorely out of date. They had CRT televisions, the bathroom light switch was on the outside of the bathroom, and the heating and air unit was the typical type that you find in a budget motel. In fact, the room itself felt like it belonged in a truck stop motel instead of a downtown Toronto hotel that charged $150.00 for a night.
When I inquired about the rooms with the other guests, they mentioned that the hotel was in the middle of being acquired by a major hotel chain. I guess they are stuck in limbo until the new owner decides if/when to renovate. I was just sad at the fact that I had to stay there during the "before" period.
