| - My favorite local hair salon. It is super close to my house, and has convenient hours. The stylists who work here are friendly and honest about what you choose to have done.
A while ago I wanted a major change done to my hair but wasn't sure exactly what. I knew I wanted something along the lines of a balayage, but didn't know how it would look on my red hair (which had been dyed with boxed color).
When I told the first stylist, she said she had an idea of what I wanted but wasn't sure she was the best to execute it, so she ended up calling another hair stylist to do it instead. To me, this was an integrity move and made me feel like a valued person, rather than just a client she could make money off of.
The new stylist she called was not even scheduled to be at work yet, and actually drove all the way down to see me. He gave me the truth: my hair was too short to get exactly what I wanted done. But, he said he could improvise and do something similar. He ended up dying my red hair back to my natural color (brown) and putting blonde streaks throughout. He also cut my hair and styled it. The total, if I remember correctly, was only about $120 (with tip). This was way cheaper than any chain location, and I felt that my stylist really cared and was very passionate about his work.
I was skeptical at first, but once my hair was finished I fell in love with it. I usually have a bad habit of changing my hair monthly, but since having this done back in March I have yet to restyle it.
I look forward to going back soon to have it touched up!
