  • A place for rich people to buy clothing and gear for rich person sports and for looking cool after they finish playing said sports. I don't mean this in a bad way and I'm half joking, but I do think it's important to be aware of Sporting Life's target market. Sporting Life has excellent staff; knowledgeable, friendly, and never pushy. They have a ton of stuff packed into the store, but the layout is quite good. The brands are all top of the line and prices reflect that, but they do have some killer sales so keep an eye out. My rule is to never buy anything from Sporting Life that's regular price, if you do you're probably getting ripped off. There's a large "fashion" section. I rarely go into this part of the store, the brands aren't really my style and are also super pricey. Think Lacoste, Fred Perry, and Penguin. They also have some really nice kids stuff. If this is your scene, you'd do well to browse this section of the store. The sports and outdoors clothing and gear section makes up the remainder of the store. They have an excellent selection of outerwear for kids and adults. Brands like Canada Goose, Arc'Teryx, and Patagonia are well represented. I love browsing the fleece jackets and hard shells here. Their footwear section is also amazing and the staff know their stuff. You'll never screw around at Foot Locker or Champs after coming to Sporting Life for shoes. Selection of clothing and gear is also good for running, golf, tennis, skiing and other, similar sports. Again, not my scene so I can't really comment. Note that Sporting Life caters to people with cars, primarily expensive ones. So, if you're taking the subway it's a bit of a pain in the ass; you'll have to walk for 15 minutes up Yonge to get here. If not for the high prices and annoying location this would be one of my favourite stores in Toronto.
