  • The Project Lodge, or Pro Lo as everyone else seems to annoyingly call it, is one of the best music venues in Madison and also happens to be one of the only real galleries in Madison. I say "real" as in they have rotating shows as opposed to being a retail "gallery." They bring in a great selection of bands and it's nice to see them outside of a bar. It's under new ownership and the new owners seem to be pretty serious about keeping the Lodge going. Most similarly sized cities such as Portland have plenty of places like the Lodge but Madison is severely lacking in this regard so the Project Lodge fills the niche nicely. Get out of the bar some nights and support it.
