Oh boy where do I begin! I took my young child to this urgent care on a Friday night because it was right across the street from our house. I had to pay for the cost of the visit even though we have insurance the receptionist stated that at that time they weren't able to verify with the insurance company since it was after hours. I agreed and paid the $95. The reception said that on Monday morning they would call have it verified and refund my money back. It's almost been 2 weeks and still no call from them.
Money aside, my main concern was my little girl. The receptionist said the doctor might want a urine sample after waiting in the waiting room for almost two hours and countless failed trips to the bathroom my little one was a bit stressful and frankly so was I. We were called back to have her weight and temp taken. The nurse said "we need urine from her!" I replied with I have been trying and last time it took 4 hours she then said "well, we don't have 4 hours so we will be sending you to the ER". I just burst out in tears. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I answered the nurse's medical questions regarding my daughter and then waited for the doctor. The doctor came into the room, didn't introduce herself, reach around me to grab the otoscope to check my daughter's ears and mouth and as she reach around me she hit me with the cord right in the face...and NEVER sad sorry. The doctor was really short with my daughter demanding her to move down further on the table. Keep in mind she is three! Long story short I was able to get a sample to have tested. The nurse said that the dip stick test came back positive but then she would notify me on Monday with the official test results from the lab to make sure they had prescribed the correct antibiotics. The doctor prescribed two prescriptions for my child...both in PILL FORM!!!! Yes, PILLS for a 3 year old!
An entire week has gone by without a call regarding the culture that was sent to the lab. This place is ridiculous. I will continue to go to Surprise Family Urgent Care down the road. The customer service and bed side manner really do make a HUGE difference for an exhausted mommy with a sick 3 year old!
I called to ask for medical records to be sent to my daughter's doctor and the gentleman that answered said he could send them to me directly. I agreed because I wanted to make sure the records were sent to the primary doc ASAP. Then I received a call back from a lady who said she can't send the records to me because that's against HIPPA law! Oh my! I have had enough with these people and WILL NOT go back!!!!
