I've eaten at Pamela's several times over the course of my life and I think I just made excuses for it the entire time. Because it had lines down the block and was basically the only breakfast spot in squirrel hill, I felt like I had to deal with the awful stomach aches I'd get after. The truth is, there is simply TOO MUCH butter on this food. If you see the pancakes in my picture, you will see the edges are brown and fried and completely greasy. This will give a lot of people a stomach ache folks! Can Pamela's be tasty? Sure, because butter can of course be a tasty thing. But I cannot keep pretending this is good breakfast when it's not.
This time around I had a egg sandwich as well, and it was small but decent tasting. I cut off the pancake "crusts" and ate the inside. Maybe the omelettes are safer and less buttery, but I don't really like omelettes, so I can't comment. The potatoes are very delicious but rich and will add to your existing stomach ache.
