  • I wish I could give this place negative stars. The sales person I was talking with, Chip, was a nice guy, but the rest of them and that business as a whole is a shady business. I was looking into buying a car from them. I had them get it compression and leak tested to make sure the engine was working properly and the auto shop came back saying that it had a bad 4th cylinder and would need some major valve work. Automax gave me the choice of paying for half of it and they would pay for the other half. After thinking it over for a few days I agreed and said I would like to move forward with buying the car. I was told by Chip that they should be getting it back yesterday or today and I wanted to make sure it would be compression tested again to make sure the engine was good now. He let me know to call the autoshop to find out. I did and the shop said the car hadn't been worked on at all yet that they needed permission from automax to start fixing the car. I called back and asked what was going on. They let me know that I would need to put 2000 down for them to fix it then I would pay the rest once it is fixed. I let them know that I wasn't comfortable with that. I wanted to know that the car was actually fixed first. They had my word that I would buy it if it was. After we hung up I talked about it with my husband and I was going to call back and let them know that I would be willing to put 1000 down as a show of good faith. A man named Ivan got on the phone with me and said that he sold the car to some place called car action or something like that. I was really pissed. I asked him why if someone was going to buy the car meaning me and we had been discussing it for the last week would he sell the car to someone else. He just said it was a bad car and that I could buy a different one. I told him I was f-king passed that this wasnt right and they knew I was going to buy the car. He told me never to call here again and hung up on me. I called back a few minutes later and was immediately hung up on. I called again and expressed to a woman on the phone how rude Ivan was and how he sounded irritated and angry on the phone and that they shouldn't treat their customers this way. Ivan is a bad person and this whole business seems shady. The other part when we were first discussing the car was they told me the car was going to be 3700 and I told them I saw their advertisement for the car for 1495. They try to upsell their cars and make you pay more. If you are in need of a used car I would highly recommend going elsewhere. Chip you should find a better dealership to work at than this shady business. Go where you can grow as a person and not learn shady business dealings. Maybe the BBB should investigate this place.... IVAN YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO WORK ON YOUR PEOPLE SKILLS AND NOT SCREW OVER A CUSTOMER. You are a bad person. Also you should never be rude on the phone or hang up on people.
