They were out of flat rate USPS Priority Mail boxes at the USPS annex inside of Albertsons, so we walked over here to get a box and mail a package. I understand that they have rent and inventory and salaries to pay, which all contribute to overhead, but their charges are ridiculous. They charged $30 for the $17.30 stamp to send a medium-size flat rate box by USPS Priority Mail. Something like $5 extra would be acceptable, but a surcharge of nearly 70% is ridiculous. Will never set foot in this again place if I can avoid it. I would have just bought a box and then went back to the self-service kiosk at the USPS Annex to buy the stamp if they had a box for purchase of the correct size, but they didn't.
USPS used to offer to deliver Priority Mail boxes for free to your home, I'll have to check that out. Then we can just print labels at home and deposit them at the Annex inside Albertsons.
