| - Dr. McSweeney is fantastic. I try to go at the beginning of every season for a general "tune-up" and when we moved to Henderson a year ago I saw Dr. mcSweeney's sign and looked her up.
Her office, conveniently located in the corner of Horizon Ridge and Green Valley sits quietly behind a gas station. It doesn't look very impressive, but upon entering it does elude that TOM feel, charts on the walls with meridian lines going up and down on the body, a bamboo plant here and there, soft music playing.
Her friendly receptionist (actually her mom) greets you and within 15 minutes you are called back with Dr. McSweeney. She does the typical oriental medicine intake like looking at your tongue, taking your pulse to feel for strengths/weaknesses, asking questions about your overall health, present ailments, etc.
She's very good at needling, some acupuncturists are heavy handed and jam those needles in there, Dr. McSweeney is very gentle. Typically you lie there with soothing music with flutes and a babbling brook or strumming guitars, she checks on you at 15 minutes, then returns at 30 minutes to remove the needles. After your needles she may do a quick Chinese massage technique or stretch you a bit.
She's professional and friendly, her office is clean and well maintained.
A regular session is $80, I don't think she accepts insurance.
