| - Ah, where to begin. This has been an ordeal for the last month. First tech came out, barely looked at the unit ( the outside line would freeze solid with a block of ice around the unit) and said you need to clean your ducts. Skeptical, whatever, paid to have our ducts cleaned. Still, the house was unbearable, but we still handled it with a inside house temp at a cool 90° , and the line still froze over. Fast forward a few weeks, call them out, this technician was awesome did his job and really did all he could, ac worked great for 24 hours.
Then it broke. Called consolidated Monday, they set an appt for Tuesday, stayed in the house all Tuesday waiting for the tech, NO SHOW. I call consolidated, they say "oh they came out yesterday" they give me the time. I KID YOU NOT the time they gave me was the time I called to make the appt.
OK so they make an appt for Wednesday , same guy as the last time, and he gives us the pretty straightforward diagnosis being the air compressor. OK. No problem its only 100° in our house at this time, but whatever, just get it fixed. The tech told us the earliest it would be fixed was Friday, the latest Monday.
Because i never heard back from them, Fast forward to Monday, I'm at work so I call the company to get a time I should be there, they usually give a 30 min out call from being at your house. SUPRISE!!! NO FREAKING RECORD OF ANY PART BEING ORDERED/APPROVED LET ALONE SCHEDULED TO BE INSTALLED. This Is when I'm starting to lose my shit. Lmao, the icing on the cake was that they they could not approve the part until a second tech came out to look at it. Which they said they tried to come out on Friday.... LIARS! NO MISSED CALLS, NO VOICEMAILS! No sort of contact was even attempted. Ah, so they say they'll call me back in an hour.
One hour later....no call. And the part was definitely not being installed that day. OK, so what do I have to do for this? Or what's going to happen I ask them. Well we need to get in touch with the guy that approves the parts for the home warranty with american home shield. DUDE they could not reach this dude ALL day...."supposedly". He was too busy filing claims from the weekend, yah my request was put in Wednesday. So um OK. Its been a week at this point.
And then I call every two hours on monday, why? Because they say they'll call me back but NEVER do. at this point i have ZERO trust in this company and their competence. all I needed to know was what they were doing and what I could expect next a timeframe of ANY sort. Lol that would be too nice though apparently.
At least Deborah was on the ball and tried to help, this other assistant "Nancy" they have is just a horrible person and would just hang up the phone when I became an "inconvenience". Yah well its kind of an inconvenience my house is a literal sweatbox, and my husband and I can handle It, but honestly one look at the dog (year old lab/Australian Shep) and cat, they are just barely hanging on.
if you call and unfortunately get nancy as the person who answers, she WILL laugh at you if you complain, and hang up if you become an "inconvenience". Deborah actually was sympathetic to our situation and at least seemed like she was trying to help.
Just run for the hills though if you're considering this company, And if you have American Home Shield, I'm sorry. We are getting a group together to file a formal complaint against both of these companies.
Spoiler: AC IS STILL NOT FIXED AND ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH IN PHOENIX SUMMER TEMPS! they definitely do not care about the well being of others, I truly feel for elderly customers or those with small children.
UPDATE: recommend American Home Shield use the contractor Air Command. They are fantastic, instead of using this POS consolidated mechanical.
