Pay nearly 300 a year for bi annual ac check. Things go well until the company is bought out by service experts. In 2013 the tech starts telling us with each visit that our unit is about to fail, and starts hard selling us on a new unit. Six months later same tech, same story. Six moths later... Again, same tech same story. Six months later we get a new tech...who says everything is FINE. Six months later we get another new tech (the last one was no longer employed). So I brief this new tech about my suspicions about the unit and ask if there is "incentives" for techs to sell units. He confides in me that the "new company" pressures its techs to sell a new unit if the unit the customer has is 10 years old or older. He says our unit is FINE. I thank him for his honesty. Now were told this guy is no longer employed with the company.
So here is the question... do you want someone who stands to gain something in the failure of your AC unit to maintain your unit?
I certainly don't and can't trust these guys anymore. In fact we cancelled our maintence program (12 years now) because of our lack of confidence.
