| - So after needing a special place to plan to have my birthday dinner at, I jumped on yelp and came across this restaurant and based on the stellar reviews booked my reservation. Today was finally the day! We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7pm reservation in which we were promptly greeted by two lovely hostesses that asked for my name for the reservation and immediately wished me a happy birthday. One of them took us to our table and, get ready for this, GAVE ME A BIRTHDAY CARD! And not just any run of the mill birthday card, it was hand written with the words "Happy birthday" and a signature from everyone that worked there. The fact that it was hand written and signed was so special to me, I love that it wasn't just some printed card but someone actually took the time to write happy birthday in a card for me. Now onto the good stuff:
Drinks: I ordered the VIP which is their signature cocktail. It's vodka soaked in pineapple for a period of time and then strained. It is a 100% pure vodka martini, no mixer, no nothing. It taste like fresh pineapple juice, delicious! But let me reiterate, it's 100% vodka. Half of my martini made me feel pretty buzzed, I couldn't even finish it because I didn't want to leave crawling out of the place. But it is a delicious drink, better suited for someone with either a bit higher tolerance or looking to do a one and done to get the job done.
Appetizers: we got the thick cut bacon and the crab cakes. The crab cake was the best thing I've ever tasted in my entire existence. I will dream about it forever. The bacon slab was out of this world, it had so much flavor and it had a delicious sweet bourbon molasses sauce that blew me away.
Entree's and sides: I opted for the 16oz prime ribeye while my boyfriend got the 22oz porterhouse. We also got a side of truffle butter for our steak. Let me tell you, this is the best steak I've ever had in my entire lifetime. I've never tasted a steak with so much flavor, so juicy, so tender, and the truffle butter on top of all of that changed my life. I promise you, this is the best meal I've ever had in my life. We also got the potatoes au gratin and some sort of shaved vegetable (think it was the Brussels sprouts, it was my boyfriends side so I didn't pay much attention). I was so overwhelmed with every bite of the steak and too busy expressing how ridiculous every bite was that I found myself never really reaching for my side dish because I couldn't stop digging into my steak. We ended up taking the potatoes home because I couldn't finish them. My boyfriend didn't love the vegetable he got but he didn't hate it, thought there was too much vinegar taste.
Dessert: the restaurant was so kind to send us a lemon cake which was amazing. I'm not even a huge lemon person but this is one of the best cakes I've ever had. The cake was moist and the glaze between the 6 layers we so fresh. The frosting was my favorite part, I think I might have to steal their recipe because it was amazing.
Service: the service was very good, our food came out perfectly coursed and our glasses were always full. We always had a busser or someone taking care of keeping our table clean and taking away plates. Our server wasn't anyone to brag about, he was good but not great just average. Usually I would dock a star but the food really knocked it out of the ball park for me and I would love to give this place a 15/5 stars because it was just that good. He seemed a bit all over the place and distracted but still nice. Hard to explain but his service was very average.
Overall: you'll notice I've used the words amazing, incredible, delicious, best I've ever had, etc. because this is truly the best food I've ever had in my life. This is the best dinner I've ever had. Hands down, the BEST food I've ever eaten in my lifetime. I can't express that enough. I'm begging my boyfriend to take me back. I'm searching for people to brag to left and right. Server: decent, Food: can't even put into words how incredible it was. I cannot wait to come back here for every special occasion ever.
