| - We had never heard of this place till we purchased the groupon and thought we would try a new BBQ place. The place itself is cute, however, the food, in my opinion was only so, so. We ended up ordering that family combo of two meats, two sides. 4 pieces or cornbread and two drinks for, I think, $28 plus tax. The meat was pretty good with their BBQ sauce and plentiful. I'm guessing that because we were one of the only customers on a Friday night and their bins were full and had been sitting for over an hour, that they decided to give us larger portions of meat. For being a coleslaw lover, the coleslaw was the worst I've tasted. My kids and I ended up pouring some honey into into the slaw to make it edible to our palates. The beans were very different, and I didn't care for them.
The worst thing about our experience were the plates that we had to eat off of. Because it's a family order, they put all of the meat, cornbread etc. on a tray covered with some sort of waxy tissue paper and the family served themselves from the same tray. The plates given to us were maybe 5' in diameter and very flimsy to where you couldn't even fit meat and a side at the same time. We had to keep going back for new flimsy plates because they were seeping through.
Oh, and if you see the barrel against the wall that says "free peanuts". It 's just a display. I felt stupid hoping to to get some peanuts only to get the shaft. : (
