THis is actually a really neat place to bring elementary school kids. the costumes, music, plays, jousting are all really neat experiences to watch.
There are many craft booths and odd gifts that would make anybody smile.
you can research your surname, buy really cool costumes. lots of things to buy for the kids, but hey why not buy at a discount store and let them dress up before you go and save a few $$.
have a good look around before planning your purchases, buy the toys for the kids on the way out. make notes of food items, they can add up quickly.
the rides for kids are usually for much younger kids like age 3-4. the rock wall the one year we went was a neat thing to do.
and of course each eactivity like the rides cost extra, shows are included in your ticket cost. take back roads to travel and get there early, wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. plan on leaving early to get out with little problems.
take a camera to capture all the neat things you can see. I distinctly remember a big tree person walking around, that was really a great costume!
