It's important to leave a review to caution others to NOT use Firestone and commissioned service writer Chris Trough for the horrible , unethical, and dangerous scam they are running.
I'm a single dad getting my car fixed so my family can safely travel to California next week. When a check engine light turned on and a oil drip I immediately went to the nearby Firestone where I met chris trough a service writer disguised as a "manager". After discussing my repair he confidently persuaded to use the shop promising to test the car assess and inform me of the best course. When he called a few hours later he described an oil leak he could easily fix and get my family safely back on our trip.
Instead I get a call that the cars done , everything's great and come get it . Oh, and also Chris drove it and personally assured it's ready to go.
100% not true . Chris was unavailable, the cars engine light was on and it trembled. This is a new Mercedes and it's clear he was hiding from me.
I called back and chris answered the phone and then told me he notched the light, the tremble and I should take it to Mercedes . Yet they were more than comfortable taking payment for a possible thing wrong, no assurance that its fixed and then never mentioning it's still dangerous when I'm paying or when they called to say come get your car; yay it's fixed and ready.
I have taken the car to another capable shop where it's being inspected to see if any work has been performed. Chris Trough at Firestone absolutely life to me to get a sale and was willing to put my family on a road trip without any concern for the deceit .
I want a full refund immediately to use at a skilled mechanic . You can make it directly to the shop I chose.
