  • When I first came to Lifetime in June of 2016, I was amazed at the layout of the facility. Little did I know, it would be one of the very few things we liked. Starting with their supposed "new" management: The staff at the front cater to signing on new guests and getting them salesman over checking in current paying customers. The lines are long during busy times, and sometimes I'm outside waiting to get in. At least LVAC greets me by name whereas Lifetime can't even attend to me, much less know who I am. Second, the weight room floor is horrendous. Dirty bathrooms, dumbells, kids my children's age (10 and 8) working out on the weight floor, and missing weights highlight some of the main issues. When I approached a worker on the weight floor about the weights, kids, and bathrooms, she was completely incompetent. She didn't even know that a guidelines sign was posted and that what I was pointing out were in violation of those rules. I politely asked to speak to her manager in which she told me she was. Haha! I had to point out where the sign was!! She's no manager. And third, the kids staff is horrifying to my boys while their classes are a joke. They advertise these 1 hour classes where I pay a fee on top of my membership to have my two boys who are 10 and 8 to take these classes. What a bogus scam! They take breaks which can last up to a half hour each class (they say 15 minutes) and have my boys sit on their gym floor and tell them not to move or talk. It's just not reasonable and my kids begged me not to take them as they are afraid of the workers. They did enjoy the games in the gymnastics room and sports on the grass field, when the "breaks" weren't working the clock. When I bring my boys during non-class hours, they have them draw with toddlers and claim that all rooms are being cleaned. Pathetic! LVAC, while not the best kid entertainment, at least has them running around. Lifetime and 24 fitness kids care are both MUST-AVOIDS. What really got me riled up about this place, is the constant unavailability of things: basketballs must be checked out on the first floor when courts are on the third floor, pool always seems to be undergoing maintenance, and bags can't be anywhere but the first floor. On two instances, my wife and I were approached about putting our bags away by staff. We use our bags to store weight belts, shoes, and our personal towels and now can't even bring them. At least have lockers on the other floors so we can access our stuff. And with the pool? I usually am dressed ready to swim but find out its been drained or that its shut down. When I talk to the front desk, they are uninformed and take 15-20 minutes JUST to get me a reason. I get it! Won't bring swimming gear ever! Nor will I drag my family through the trouble. Cafe? Overpriced for gas station, soggy-tasting food. The only reason I'm giving this place one star? The gym is not as busy as LVAC which means there is more available machines. Lastly, my family and I left the $350 per-month gym to join the much more affordable LVAC. We would have left a month sooner, if not for the bogus month's notice to cancel. Do they expect us to use a gym we want to quit? Really need another month of a car payment living in their luxury? Lame. The staff at LVAC are much more competent and nice, kids care is better, pool is open, and the weight floor is cleaner and lenient to your belongings. Thanks to 24 fitness and Lifetime, we are now lifelong members at LVAC and you should be too.
