Absolutely a solid four star experience. It would have been five if a. the hostess didn't give me a "wtf" face when I told her I hadn't made reservations for a Tuesday night and b. the door leading to the patio had been shut every time someone walked in and out - it was a bit chilly.
Other than those two sillies, dinner was good! My boyfriend said this was his favorite dinner of our trip. OH, another thing that disappointed me was the limited list of appetizers. Usually I can find at least one thing to start with (I am not picky) but nothing seemed appetizing.
So onto mains we went. Our server was ridiculously nice and charming, Tania was her name. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my man ordered the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin - lots of pig for him!!!!!
My shrimp was solid. I enjoyed the creamy and flavorful grits mixed in with my cut up shrimp, but the shrimp didn't have a ton of flavor. That was totally ok though, as the broth that surrounded it all was garlicky and tasted of the sea! Our server also brought bread to me so that I could sop up all that delicious broth - waste not!
The tenderloin was done perfectly. So....tender.... And the charred corn salsa it came with was crisp and sweet, a wonderful compliment to the salty bacon!
For dessert we went with the creme brûlée. It was your standard dessert, nothing that put us over the edge, but delicious nonetheless.
