| - As you can see, I am now on to my 3rd review of this gym to show you how things have changed since re-joining a little less than a year ago.
Since being here, I have seen the front staff change 6x in less than a year. I feel like they have them work almost 7 days a week, which I find disturbing. Three of the times I'm almost certain some of the staff were let go because they wanted to take some time off, the others flat out got complaints about them. However, I would like to say that their current front desk Jenn is pretty awesome. I've never seen someone so diligent about cleaning and servicing gym members with a smile. I always questioned how much cleaning is being done in the gym, but I see her do it every morning. The vents at the top could use some cleaning, their is years of dust that is very visible, which has me concerned because that could very much make your gym members sick also, the carpet could use a good deep clean/shampoo. Anyhow, Jenn, she's a keeper and she probably deserves a raise to be kept!
Again, I am a member that goes here in the morning. I used to religiously go M-F, but I had to start changing it up. By change up, I also started going to a gym to lift weights or just do cardio on my own. I say that, because of me going to the gym religiously here at UFC M-F, I can do the workouts in my sleep. I've memorized the gym routines. One, am I really paying membership to just punch a bag? Two, am I really paying membership to do the same lifting weights routine? By the way, there is NOTHING wrong with the coaches, I am providing feedback that it would do good to add variety to the workout. I.e. Do mitts, pair up, do a warm up routine, focus in on members one-on-one, add in some ab workouts, burpees, whatever it takes to actually challenge and confuse my muscles (that I'm trying to build). For that, I had given my notice to leave the gym because there is no point of paying for 2 gym memberships.
I had by chance taken Michael's class on a Sunday and I am so very glad that I did. If you were here back when it was LA Boxing days, you will appreciate his teaching style. I have only taken his boxing class, as it is in the AM, and it is awesome. To that, I really wish he had more classes than just Sunday. His class has not been the same routine every time I went to take his class. He gives one-on-one attention, does mitts, and will go at the pace of the class. For those that are a bit advance, he will add variety. He is also very engaging with the class which I think is important for members to correct how they are working out or just open up a little to have fun in class. Because of Michael, I reinstated my membership, but its hanging by the thread.
Otherwise, the gym's focus is the 6 week challenge. It's a way for new people to be exposed to the UFC gym, hopefully a way for them to join if satisfied by the results. Don't be fooled by their marketing tricks, they seem to always have "seats" available for the challenge.
