The El Chorro is a first class dining experience with a long history and repetition to preserve. The location and setting is outstanding. The cuisine is exceptionally good with portions that satisfy. The food presentation is beautifully done offering creative delicious quality dishes that are balanced and well seasoned.
We completely enjoyed our selections to the last bite. They included braised short ribs, a filet with crab cake special and roasted jumbo shrimp with risotto. The heirloom tomato with burrata salad is so delicious. Having experienced Napa Valley cuisine for many years, the El Chorro is right there in the same class serving great food in the Southwest Desert. The bartender for cocktails and our table server were top-notch and offered outstanding service.
One issue came up with the hostess that showed us to our table. We asked to be seated at a table next to a window very close to the table we were given. The dining room was half empty with most customers seated outside on the patio. She declined our request and told us the table was previously reserved. We dined for three hours and the table we requested was never used, as were many other tables in the dining room.
To uphold the top level of cuisine and customer service, let alone what we paid (+$300) for three - the hostess staff should always attempt to honor a customer's request and be sure they don't look unprofessional in the end.
