Needing a freshen up for Chinese New Year, I booked a facial and mani at this highly rated dt spa. A slight mishap with the appointment had them scrambling a bit but all was fine eventually.
Tucked away off a busy dt street, Camden spa offers a respite away from the hustle and bustle of dt TO. Friendly receptionist greets you to the Comfortably industrial but still cozy interior. Spas tend to overdo the "Asian faux zen" thing but this is one that doesn't and is all the better for it. All attendants and estheticians are female, no male RMTs.
My attendant was capable and nice enough, I did come away feeling refreshed but unfortunately Camden did not go beyond the price of my voucher. It was supposed to be a 75 min facial and a 45 min manicure (Not sure why mani would take 45 min however ....) but I got an hour facial and a 20 min manicure.
Camden Spa is a fine spa. The staff is friendly and warm, the spa is clean and comfortable and they do a fine job of making you fell refreshed.
Foot Note:
Maybe it's because I was using a voucher and didn't pay full price but I sort of expected businesses that issue vouchers should honour them to full value. This is not to single out Camden Spa but more a common observance. Businesses get roped into advertising through vouchers by groupon and the like but it doesn't ever seem to work out for the business or the customer. The business loses out and the customers get short changed.
