  • I checked www.ToFixIt.com to find a company to repair my refrigerator a little over a week ago. Freezer floor of my refrigerator had a thin sheet of ice. I knew that all that needed to be done was have the drain hole cleared, which is a simple repair. Valley Heating, Cooling & Appliances was advertised on ToFixIt.com. Apparently ToFixIt does NOT "Take the best and toss the rest." I talked to tech "Bernie" at Valley Heating and he said that I needed a heater (diagnosed sight unseen) and it would cost $276.00 to repair. I asked about the "1 yr parts and labor warranty" that was advertised on ToFixIt. He said that they offer only a "90 day warranty," then further explained that if it malfunctioned in the 4th month, I would have to pay it all over again. He said as a tech, he "was not going to eat the cost of the part and labor" if it malfunctioned. I called the office @ Valley Heating and cancelled the appointment. Then I called ToFixIt.com and the woman was very indignant and rude and said that "we can't control what companies have on their websites." I told them that the one year warranty was on ToFixIt's website, which is false advertising. ToFixIt's website clearly states: "1 yr. parts and labor warranty for all ToFixIt customers." NOT TRUE! BTW, I got my freezer drain fixed for only $95.00 by a reputable company that same day. There was no way that I needed a heater, but Valley Heating, Cooling & Appliances was going to automatically charge me $276.00 and then give me a 90-day warranty. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! They are not honest and neither is ToFixIt.com! "Trust certified" is a bogus plan. Not only did they not check this company, when I pointed out the erroneous information, ToFixIt refused to change it.
