| - I was really hoping to not write this review, I was hoping to write one with 5 stars. First off, I am in the auto industry, and have not only worked on cars, but ran repair shops too. I stopped in and spoke to Rick, I let him know that I was seeking a local repair shop to do business with as I am in the car business. I let him know that I have read his reviews, good and bad. Of coarse he explains the bad ones to me. Now l expect any business to have at least one negative review, after all we are speaking of reality. I mention what I am needing diagnosed with one car, and left it for diagnosis. I also let him know what had been done, and what I suspected, and that I would rather pay to get it looked at even though I am capable of doing it myself. We talk, he says he will call following day mid morning. Next day its 4 pm and nothing so I stop by. Tells me they are backed up, will call the following day, says they are on the right track, hoses are good, blah blah. Next day late I receive a call, tells me the part that I initially suspected is the problem, quotes me 4 hours at $110 and hour, and that his cost on the part is almost $400, his cost, then I sell him that I can get that same part for more than $100 less and that the usual fix is to remove it, clean it out and reinstall it. He says that he can't even get it that cheap at his cost and wont guarrantee anything unless I have the part changed. At that point I told him I would get with him the following day. When I went to get the car he was charging me $220 for labor, and $20 for shop fees! BS charge for the fees, and the Ford dealer would have diagnosed it for $150. His $110 an hour is much higher than what I pay the Ford dealer because I get a discount. So Rick literally screwed me and thought he would screw me for more. I have used top notch independent shops for $65 an hour! He wouldn't even put the diagnostics fee to the repairs! Needless to say the shop who is now doing the repair, labor and parts is less than what I paid Ronnie's for diagnostics because I don't even need to change the manifold, but for it to be removed and cleaned. Now keep in mind that this was written by someone who can literally fix anything on a car and has professionally in the past worked on all domestic makes, BMW, Mercedes, and Rolls Royce models, not someone who has no understanding of the mechanics of cars or how a shop is run.
