I am new home owner. Received the Platinum level warranty as part of the buying agreement. It has been extremely disappointing service calls.
First I had a leak, they sent someone to check, the contractor could not figure it out, so they sent another contractor. According to the plumbing company they will have to make hole in drywall to diagnose the issue, but according to the policy neither covering the drywall hole, or sealing the shower which was causing the issue was covered. So I am stuck with getting my own plumber and sealing the shower and dry wall guy to cover the hole and texture the wall.
Last week my cooking range stopped working. Called the warranty people. They send appliance person who states it is electrical issue. First electrician shows up and is unable to even locate the junction box where the short is occurring. So I have to get second opinion. They state they can work on it, but they need help with moving the appliance as it is not their liability. I call the my Platinum OneGuard Warranties company, and I am quickly informed if it is not normal wear and tear they do not cover it and I am better off calling my own contractor and getting this done. So i have already lost week and half and I am still left with holding the issue.
I guess that is what is expected from the Platinum service of this home warranty company.
So before you buy, think if you want to pay more for every call you make additionally pay more yearly dues also to get stuck doing the work yourself.
Just my 2 cents
