I like most of the bars in Cosmopolitan (see my reviews for Bond, Marquee, etc) but this place was terrible. There were plenty of empty tables marked "reserved" so a large group of my friends had to stand around because we got chased off when we asked about the empty tables. Then, they didn't have enough servers to wait on everyone but yelled at you if you tried to go to the bar to order. So....I stood around for 25 minutes until someone took my order and waited another 10 minutes for my beer, which actually was not that overpriced (it was $9). Because I didn't want to bail on my friends, I politely drank my beer and then gave my pal the cash to cover it and got the heck out.
From a management perspective, why wouldn't you want to monetize the people standing around? If you have a group of 15 people standing around but only five are drinking, seems to be a missed opportunity. They should put iPads on the tables and let people order and pay via those and just have drink runners. Would probably save on staff and increase sales dramatically.
There was a dude playing the guitar when I was there and he was pretty good so for that reason and the fairly priced beer, this place gets two stars. However, I would not go back to this place. If I go out for a drink, call me crazy but I actually like to be able to drink!
