| - Where do i begin? I've only written three yelp reviews in the years I have been using this site. After the unethical and deplorable treatment which I recieved at this doctors office I felt that it was time to write another so maybe people would see it and not make the mistake of going here.
My son had a fever of 101.2 at school one day, we picked him up and took him home, gave him some fluids and cold medicine and went about our day. The next day it was still 101.2, so, we did what anyone would do and scheduled a doctors appointment. He didnt have ANY symptoms other than a fever and feeling icky.
You can imagine our surprise when we went to this office and were told they needed to test my son for diabetues. They asked if he was fatigued, no. They asked if he was urinating a lot, no. They asked is he has an unusal thirst, no. Still they felt it neccessary to test for diabetues. We erred on the side of caution and got the blood work done, on our 8 year old son.
Now, as any parent can understand we were a wreck at this point, very worried about the outcome of the test. When we found out the blood work had come in they called us and i asked over the phone what the result was. They said that they could not tell us over the phone. I was shocked, i told them "We are waiting to find out if my son is a diabetic and you cant tell me over the phone if he is or isnt?" We couldnt make an appointment to see them until after the new year, about two weeks, because we were traveling. i explained this and still they would not let me know whether or not my son had a chronic disease that would require immediate treatment. We scheudled the appointment and went to see them.
When we arrived at the doctors office, i had to fill out all his information again, he had been there three weeks ago. They said because it was a New Year. When i explained that we were just there to get the results of bloodwork, the rude receptionist said "i need the paperwork or they cant see him." When we finally did go back to the room after an hour, they weighed my son, took his blod pressure, temperature and all that again. I told the nurse we were just there for bloodwork results and they said the same thing, that they had to do the checks again because it was a new year. Clearly this is just so they can justify the $10 co-pay they charge for the visit.
When the nurse practioner finally did come into the room, she said he didnt have diabetus or high blood pressure or high cholersrol or anything like that. She then began to tell me that he might have a thyroid problem becuase of the blood work. When i asked what would make her think that, she just responded again, "the blood work" She then said that signs of a thyroid problem were, "rapid weight gain, dry hair, dry skin and fatigue." When i told her that my son had zero of those symptoms, she then offered to put him on medication for a thyroid condition and that they would need more bloodwork done. it was at this point i checked out of the conversation, lmao. I told her we would be getting a second opinion. She then started to say that my son might have a bone marrow condition or low white t cell counts and that it would be dangerous to not do more bloodwork. I got my copies of the paperwork and left lol. i wont be returing to them again.
Forget about the long wait times, the rude staff and the fact that they dont even have any real doctors anymore. Avoid this place because they will try and diagnose you with nothing because they want money out of you. i felt bad for all the older people who were there because there was probably nothing wrong with them and they were being taken agvantage of.
