It's summer - and summer means ice cream....yummy ice cream. I've been here 2 times I think this week alone...sad I know, but it's been hot.
It's kind of hard to mess up a franchise biz like Baskin Robbins....the staff is friendly and funny, the location is great - in the middle of restaurant alley on Church Street and the selection is typical. I tend to stick to the familiar flavours of mint chocolate chip and rainbow sherbet. I don't need nuts or any other "treats" in my ice cream, but they offer them. The location is small and doesn't really have many features....but it's an ice cream shop, do they have features at all?
The cool thing is that the owner (who I have yet to meet), remembers ppl from like 1990 by name! There are many stories about the friendly man and how he can remember you - it happened to a friend of mine last year.
I'm not gonna lie, I have a problem with the price. For 2 regular scoops in cups it was $6.47! I can buy a full 2L of ice cream for that at the mini mart down the street! The ice cream as mentioned before was standard with no treats or special features added. I have to say I think that's excessive. If you want to buy a 500ml take home tub it's $8!!
