| - Let me start with the good which may be the most important and only thing that matters to some; the color was amazing and the stylist was very educated. Unfortunately the awful experience left me forgetting his name.
I typically go to Red Rock Spa or Cosmopolitan for my hair color. I am a brunette trying to live in a blondes world so I need someone who really knows color. I find the higher end spots tend to have better hairstylists but that's just me. I say this because I am very aware of what a nice environment, facility and treatment is like.
I purchased a Groupon ONLY because my regular girl was unavailable and I needed my hair done ASAP as I was leaving town. I planned on purchasing the half head of highlights but he said he would need to do 3/4 so I figured I should probably get the entire head of highlights groupon. I asked the manager or receptionist or friend of the employees, not really sure what she was because she didn't act like an employee, whatever she was, I asked if she preferred I just paid them directly since groupon would take half and she agreed.
The stylist told me he would be using highlights and lo-lights but there would be a small fee. (Small) I said ok.
During my service, the lady who's job is still a mystery was playing YouTube videos in Spanish really loud, there was no sound system or music. Out of frustration I had to ask twice for real music to be played. She finally turned it on but also played her YouTube.
While I was sitting in foils, my stylist grabbed a cigarette and walked through the salon with it in his mouth as he walked out to light it up in a smoking area. Yuk.
When rinsing me out, the bowl next to me started to leak all over the floor and the employees kept talking in front of me about how it was requested be fixed but nothing has been addressed.
I sat at the bowl with a wet head while my stylist did a blow dry on another guest... way to add time to my service as if my time is free. In that time I watched the mystery employee shop at smith's.com or something like that. Come to think of it, I think mystery girl's name was Rosie or something because when I called that's how she answered, not "thank you for calling pure, how can I help" just "Rosie" I had to ask if it was a Salon.
After my hair was done, the moment of truth. .. payment. So $60 groupon with a *small* fee for lo-lights. That small fee: $60.00. So the total is now $120. When I said "really"? Mystery girl replied with "what!? Where do you work? You can afford that". I was furious! I told her that the treatment took up the same amount of time, foils and product and that it was just a difference in alternating colors. She replied with "well that is our lo-light fee" I brought the stylist over and explained to him the situation and how he said it was a small fee so finally they agreed to lower the price to $100.00 what a scam! I had only brought a $100 bill with me because I was supposed to pay $60 and wanted to tip him $40. Now I had to charge my card. When I asked for change for the $100 to tip the stylist they had already closed their drawers so I had to wait while another employee took my $100 bill into the casino to break it at a machine. So awkward!
I still tipped the stylist $40 as his work was good but the experience I had, they should have paid me to be there! Absolutely awful!
