  • So. A Friend had told me to come here for a pretty great Tiki Experience. Since I haven't actually had a Tiki Experience, I figured I'd give it a shot. Tiki is fun. I enjoy Rum from time to time. It was Christmas Eve. I opened the door to the place, and I walked into a small dark room. I was a bit confused. This was a teeny tiny anti-chamber. It was pitch black. The sounds of the ocean and pirates yo-ho'ing welcomed me as my eyes adjusted to the darkness. It's like an airlock for the real world. I carefully walked towards the back of this room and opened the second set of doors. Beyond the 'real world airlock' is a realm of Tiki. Island statues and rock sculptures and water is flowing. While not quite as dark as the anti-chamber, it was pretty darn dark. But I'm kinda glad I had a moment to adjust to the dim lighting. I walked further in a bit confused. There were tables and a bar. Not really a restaurant, a bar. I guess this is a Tiki Bar. Ok. I climbed up onto a stool, and looked around. I'm kinda confused by the card machine games at the bar. They do let you continue your Vegas gambling, but they also take up half the bar space. Gremlins was playing on the TV behind the bar. Ah. Yes. Best Christmas movie ever. I like this place. Bartender came over to greet me, and gave me a drink menu, as well as a sheet with the Holiday Tiki Drinks. Ok. I asked about food, and I was told that they've got Pu-Pu platters. Like they have ten or so of them a night. And they are thirty dollars(ish). Um. Okay. I'll get one of those. And a Hot Buttered Rum. (total after tax & tip was $53) I watched the movie playing, fondly remembering my childhood as Gizmo raced his Barbie corvette through the hardware store, and into the window to pull up the shade to melt the vile Stripe in the sunlight. Saving Billy in the nick of time. Before too long, my Pu-Pu platter was placed next to me. Holy Crap. This thing was made for more than one. At LEAST two. Maybe even three. I wondered to the bartender about my drink, and I guess they had to heat it up so it took a lil bit longer. My drink showed up after just a bit longer. I composed the Yelp Photo, and then dug in! I tasted a bit of Pu-Pu items from each serving area, and all of it was quite tasty. I was pretty darn full after that. The drink was delicious. And quite strong for my meager alcohol tolerance. I was very glad I had eaten quite a lot over the whole day. As awesome and entertaining as this place is, my one complaint about the place, is that the parking spots are extremely & pretty ridiculously tight. But that's not really their fault. I might be back on my next trip to Vegas. I might not be? Who knows. But it was definitely fun to stop in and check out. Thanks guys!
