| - Since I moved out of Liberty Village I don't come to this location to shop as often, and Loblaws or Chinatown grocerers are more of my destination of choice for food, But whenever I came back to Metro at Liberty I always feel like going home. There were so many good memmories from shopping at mid night and eating at bench in a late summer eve. There were many staples that you cant get from Lablaws such as sesame seeds burger buns. And metro seem to have better and freshier pastries especially cakes. Lablaws have very nice looking cupcakes and they are huge, but they don't taste as good as they look just trust me. Metro also has very FRESH croissants! They spoil quick since there is no presertives so do not buy huge pack if you cant eat them in 4 days. I have tossed so many of them hahaha... but I cant stop buying because they are so buttery n nice.
They have bulk food section which a lot of grocery stores no longer have. I love the idea of you can pack your own items in desired amount. Loblaw bulk food are prepacked in one size container so u cant just buy like bunch small things just to try or mix match.
They have CHEAP home health bueauty suppy section , shampoos, body wash, tooth paste, ....cough syrup are WALMART pricing!!! If u think their food is expansive, then u save money by shopping ther for house hold items. Their Cashmere toilet tissues often on sale for 2.99. n u can buy a bulk!!!
They also carry THE BEST DOG TREATS!!!-----It's made of 100% chicken----and ONLY CHICKEN! They are chicken jerkeys in Irrisistable brand! Irrisistable is Metro Brand unlike No name brand they are the highest quality brand for food and they are healthy. U can get half pound of pur Chicken breast dry jerkey as dog treats for only $4.99 when their market price is around $12-15 for the same product. I had to blink my eyes n double check as its unbelievable. I WAS BLOWN AWAY for the quality of this item. I have a yorkie puppy. Yorkies ar prone to teeth decay and gum problems. So I don't give him any cookies or flower based treats. I give him try beef livers and lean protein as treats which scuffs the teeth clean without leaving tartar on teeth. when you open the chicken jerkey, the amoma is so nice. I always sniff it before giving to puppy, it smells like it would taste good hhaa,,,,and my puppy goes crazy for it. :):):) It's Irrisistable Metro brand chicken jerkey!!! Look for it!!! I am giving Metro 5 starts for carrying such quality treats for CHEAP!
They also has the BEST CHOCLATE ALLLLL TIME! If u are huge fan of swiss choclate that are smooth to the touch and melts in mouth, If you love Lindtt chocolate, this is the place to come. The IRRISISTABLE brand choclate which own by metro are purely made in Swiss !!!! imported by Metro. And they were by far rated by anyone has tried that better than LINDTT n GoDiva. I was skepticale how cheap the first time. They were $1.49 each now $1.69 cach. I had gotten so many people hooked on these. Their choclate are so velvety u can toss bunch in hot milk n make straight milk choclate. Cheap choocolates with fillers wont desolve in heat. These choclates RUINED KitKat, Coffee Crisps, and bunch other candies for me because u used to these, then taste the cheap choclate candies. U feel like the usual candies they taste so bad. all suggery and less velvety. They are so cheap, but don't let the cheapness fool u. They areTHE BEST CHOCLATEs.
The lady at self checkout loves love love me n my bf, I was her fav customer because I used to come here at mid night when's not as busy ot do grocery shopping all the time when I lived in Liberty. She is so friendly and very very helpful. She told me that she was so sad that we seemed stop going there n she was so happy to see me. She is so cute that she was like:"come here more, don't be a stranger".
I feel like Metro is obviously not making enough money to open all night. probably not enough people are going between 12-7am. PC grocery store opened at DNA build probably took huge chunk of their business. I guess its just its impossible to please everyone ,they did upgrade the store n did store reno so they are obviously making effort to up their game. So its unfair to say its a bad store etc. I think I tend to find better vege and fruits from metro than lawblaws so I still prefer Metro.
