| - Most girls dream about their wedding their whole lives and Kaira's Bridal did not provide a positive experience in dress shopping for my dream. In the initial visit, I was too excited to notice that I was being helped by a lady who was there helping her sister, who actually worked there while she did not.
I found a dress I loved but did not know until we were paying for it that it did not come in my size. Of course they do tell you they will be able to make it fit but not that they overcharge an additional amount for it. Each visit later, I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism which was uncomfortable.
Alterations we're going to cost $400 to take in to my size, hem, and create a bustle. I was also told to come back because they were unable to pin it tight enough because of the amount of material to be taken in.
I asked if they could steam the dress to get wrinkles out and found some small red stains that miraculously appeared out but they said I would be charged $50 to do it. I was told this was because they steam the dresses when they first come in. I'm not sure this is entirely true.
They also told me the dress fit perfect when in fact, it was still too big and they pretty much just refused to take in anymore. The bustle was not the same as what I was shown originally, and the hem as well as the side seams were uneven, making the dress lop-sided.
I left the store practically in tears and the sales people did not care only to comment that I had a balance to pay on my way out. I ended up paying a little over $1700 for a dress that I had to find another seamstress to fix within a week of my wedding and of course, had to pay her. This is too much stress to deal with when planning a wedding. A fact that a bridal shop knows and takes full advantage of. It seems like they were nice until the dress was actually paid for.
I would suggest reading reviews on bridal shops, finding a dress that is your size, as well as a private seamstress who will not over charge like bridal shops may do. This way you can have a more positive experience that fits in better with your dream wedding.
