| - Came to this place on whim, craving Hawaiian food but not the typical fast food type that is arpund where I live. I've driven past this place a few times going to Diamond China and Herbs & Rye... and the Yelp reviews were a end deciding factor. Seemed to be a small family owned style restaurant that has regular customers as many were greeted/chatted with for a bit. We came at opening 11am last weekend and it got fairly busy with the first half hour, with half the tables being filled.
I would definitely say this place caters to more Korean style food than Hawaiian, but I'm not complaining! Boiled peanuts come standard as an appetizer while waiting for your food. We both ordered the combo which included kalbi short rib, meat chun, bbq chicken, rice and mac salad. Everything on the plate was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. We also got a great variety of banchan that included kim chee, pickled cucumbers, seaweed, bean sprouts, and what looked to be some kind of pickled citrus. All were very tasty.
Soda comes in cans here, but at least only $1.50. They also carry Hawaiian Sun cans as well. The only spots were they lost me were the kind of slow service and the price. The price is quite hefty than what I'm used to, with each combo plate being $17. As for quality and taste, superb. I'll definitely be back.
