| - I cringe every time I have to go to this place. My only reason is to get a gift certificate for my niece, who is Sephora crazy, otherwise wild horses would not get me in the store.
I was interested to note that several other reviewers have my complaint: the horrible service. So okay, I get that most of the people working there are very young, and they are not well trained in customer service. Having said that, it amazes me that the head office doesn't see the point of well trained sales staff. You sell more when you make nice with the clients, and I would have thought the bottom line is what interests them the most.
Not once have I ever been greeted by anyone when walking in and through the place. It is not for want of staff since the place seems to be crowded with staff who spend a lot of time checking themselves out in the mirrors. I would like to add that I always go right after opening, so them being crazy busy is not an issue.
I once asked a product question and the answer was so stupid and totally incorrect (I looked it up after) that I would never ask them a question again. Their product knowledge is really bad and their willingness to help clients is non-existent.
Their website is pathetic and I have never once been able to take advantage of any of their on-line offers.
Shoppers Drug Mart is huge, and doesn't specialize in makeup like Sephora does, but I have found that the beauticians at Shoppers are very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant, and that a wide selection of cosmetic and beauty products are carried. Sephora, take a leaf out of Shoppers service book.
