I had carpet installed through Home Depot a little more than three years ago. A little before two years there developed some rippling around high traffic areas. We had someone come out and stretch those areas. But we forgot one area so we called them again to come out. Someone came out to look at it and said they cannot stretch the carpet in the impacted area. They want us to take everything out of the room and have the entire carpet in that room stretched. This is a problem because of a large bed frame and other furniture that would be hugely difficult to disassemble and move. We would like just the area in question stretched. What's odd is the previous carpet that we had for over 15 years never needed stretching. I don't know if the fact that our current carpet needs stretching so soon is because of inferior carpet, inferior installation or something else. I do know we will not use Home Depot again for flooring or anything major.
