  • This 1 star is only because there isn't an option for 0 stars. This place should be avoided at all costs! There were SO MANY horrible moments I'm not even sure how to put it all into words. Over the weekend my mom's 10 week old puppy starting having serious issues. Her jaw was locked shut and she had very labored breathing. We took her to this place as quickly as we could fearing she might have parvo. She ended up having fluid in her lungs and wasn't getting enough oxygen, I think had we taken our puppy somewhere else she would still be alive. However, unfortunately we were referred to this place and by the end of the day she had to be put down. The worst part about this facility is their focus on money. The first question we were asked was "what is your budget." I understand why they can't do treatments with out the payment up front, but perhaps they could at least make it SEEM like they care about your furbaby. Once they found out we only had about $1500 to spend, instead of figuring out a course of treatment they could do, they started trying to encourage euthanasia. On top of everything, the technician helping us had the worst bedside manner! it was as though she had no idea that this might be a traumatic and difficult situation for my mom. She was extremely abrupt and callous including when she was asking us to sign a DNR form. It was disgusting to witness. When we first met the vet she seemed sympathetic and understanding, however it ended up the same. After telling us that she wouldn't know what the issue was or how to proceed with treatment unless we did an xray (at $260) she then asked us our budget. When we told her we had about $1500 her prognosis changed for the worse and suddenly she was pushing for euthanasia. But we told her we wanted the xrays. After the xrays she told us our girl had fluid in her lungs and basically treatment was making sure she still got enough oxygen while her lungs essentially healed themselves. The best option is intabation but that cost $1500 per day plus lots of other fees. We couldn't afford that much, so she said other option was to leave her in the oxygen cage for 24-48 hours. When i asked the cost she told us it was $48 for 12 hours of oxygen, so $100 a day. I even asked "if money were no object, what would you be able to do?" No matter what it was a waiting game. We just had to make sure she was getting oxygen while we waiting for her lungs to drain the fluid... but she still kept telling us there was no gaurantee and kept mentioning euthanasia. I don't know about you, but if there is hope, i would rather you make our puppy comfortable and allow her the chance to fight. So we decided to leave her on oxygen and see how it went. My mom had to go back to the facility to give the money for the first 12 hours. When she got there the puppy looked better, was up and walking around on her own, but was still breathing really heavy. However now they were saying its $600 per 12 hours. I confirmed 3 times with the doctor that it was only $100 a day. But because she was on critical care it was $500 more. They knew we had no choice other than to let her die so my mom paid the $600 and asked if i would go in before they closed to pay another $600 for the next 12 hours. When I showed up just 2 hours after my mom left, (and the puppy was making improvement) the receptionist tells me that the dr was just trying to call my mom and ushered me to a room. The dr came in and told me the puppy was suffering and had gotten worse and she wanted to talk to my mom about putting her down. She literally said "you should just keep that money and save it to go towards euthanasia" Heartless?! i went back to see the puppy and she was asleep and breathing harder than before, but i wasn't aware that the puppy had just been up and about. So i called my mom and had her come down. Come to find out the dr had given her a sedative again, but failed to mention that when i saw her. We ended up letting them euthanize our dog even though we all felt like it wasn't right. They just kept telling us different things and pushing so hard. After everything was over, and as my mom and i compared conversations things felt worse. Not only was it ALL about the money, the literally did whatever they could to get us to let them put her down once they realized we weren't going to be able to pay thousands of dollars. I understand that it could be that they thought the puppy would be suffering with out the option of the expensive procedures, but they really need to figure out how to address it correctly so its more about the animal and less about the money, Please don't go here! Its triple the amount of any other place, and you paying those fees will be the most important part of the conversation for them, If you care about your furry family member you'll go somewhere else.... ANYWHERE else!
