Very randomly we decided to take a mini-vacation the 4th of July weekend. Being from Buffalo, we didn't want to travel too far and decided on Pittsburgh. Hotels were pretty booked, but Marriott was great and found me a room at the Renaissance and we were not disappointed. The website and pictures don't do the place justice because it is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Aside from being architecturally and visually stunning, the hotel sits in a very vibrant area of downtown, close to just about everything. We checked out a PIrates game that weekend as well so it was perfect to get across the bridge to the stadium and for 4th of July fireworks it was close to a lot of great vantage points. Had I booked earlier I would've tried to get a room that didn't face inside, but even with that the service was excellent. Great hotel bar and menu as well. Would definitely try and stay here next I'm back in town.
