Huge lineup! Upon reading the reviews and growing up in HK and inhaling egg waffles all my life, I decided to wait the hour for my waffle. (How does egg waffles take an hour...?) Ordered a matcha ice cream to kill time.
The matcha ice cream was too cream heavy and subtle for my tastes. It was alright.
The egg waffle had issues. The waffle was not cooked right. The outside, while brown, was not crispy. The inside was not fluffy and very much like cake batter. It was a very odd egg waffles. Feels very mushy.
But that wasn't even the biggest gripe. I ordered the original. Those that have had normal egg waffles (or even waffles) know they are sweet. My original egg waffle came out salty. I believe what happened was that they don't seperate the savoury egg waffles (wut...) from the sweet egg waffles. I was expecting my childhood favourite (for an hour) and got a mushy salty mess off an egg waffle. Could not eat more then 1/3 of it.
Would not buy again even if there was no lineup. The mom and pop juice stand around the corner make a better original egg waffles in 10 minutes. (And yes, I ordered and ate the whole thing.) Go there instead unless you want a fancy weird egg waffle that still falls short of being an egg waffle.
