I've heard bad things about the gondola rides in Italy so i figures we should give this a shot while in Vegas! The line was really long and confusing. You have to go to another place to purchase tickets, then you can't wait in line for the ride until about 10 mins before your start time on your ticket. So my husband and I had to linger in the area but peruse some stores for a bit before coming back.
While in line we asked someone that worked there about the outdoor gondola (it's spring and only the indoor one was open at the time). She said "it's outside, goes around the hotel". We kind of wanted more information but she seemed unhappy and we didn't want to bother her.
The gondola driver (is that what you call them?) was friendly. He had an Italian accent, a ton of cool facts about Italy and a fantastic voice. He sang to us and even took requests. He playfully photobombed the selfies of the other couple with us. It's kind of weird having everyone in the mall staring at us while on the ride. You have to block all of that out and enjoy the moment. It was $36 per person and the prints of the photos were $25 minimum.
