This place is the perfect blend of modern and traditional. Where else can you go get your haircut with eclectic decor while being offered a beer, yet still get your neck trimmed with a straight razor followed by a steamed towel wrap?
I heard about this place through word-of-mouth. I was specifically told to ask for Ian Counts. He does a heck of a job. I've never left disappointed. Everyone working there is extremely pleasant and they're all very laid-back. Beer, coffee, wine, soda -- it's all there for your enjoyment while you get trimmed and styled. Local art on display adds to the fun feel of the joint. The stylists offer product and styling suggestions. They also use the products firsthand.
Occasionally they host special events, such as art crawls, etc. Some are even in conjunction with their neighbor, Pint Central. The side of the building was recently tagged with the infamous Charlotte #BartArt as well. It's definitely a great place to checkout. I find it relaxing, and always feel refreshed and refined after having sat in the barber's chair.
Make sure you give them a try for your next cut and dry! Not hard to find, as the address is in the name: 1226 Central Avenue.
