  • In town, daughter having surgery down the street, so we chose Hyatt Place. First I'll say, my daughter had her first surgery in January and we stayed at the Howard Johnson a block away from Hyatt Place. Howard Johnsons was absolutely horrible, dirty, the fridge didn't work, electricty blew out our first night, it was just BADDDD. So, we chose Hyatt Place this time, and I cannot BELIEVE the difference just a block apart. Hyatt is amazingly clean, the rooms are large and comfortable, the lobby area is spacious and enjoyable to just hang out, breakfast is AWESOME, fresh. The place is just...fantastic. Best thing...I spoke with probably 6 or 7 of the front desk folks at random times for help, and every single one of them without fail was kind, courteous, true professionals. They even had to move us into another room due to a bunch of noisy guys in the room next to us...not a single complaint or annoyed look from the front desk...they just helped us out. 2nd night, gentleman named Rick at front desk helped us again, I was exhaused and brain dead after a day in the hospital, I probably sounded like an idiot, was so tired...but he helped me to reserve our room for another night, even though there was several people waiting for his help. Then he personally brought us up extra towels and toiletries. I just cant say enough good things about this place. The only "bad" thing about this place is that there are a lot of young 20s people who seem to stay here, and they are VERY loud (or the walls are thin). After getting moved to 5th floor, a herd of 21 year old girls piled into the room next to us with a professional photographer, and htey must have reserved a few rooms on our floor, because all night they were running back and forth to eachother's rooms and talking very loudly in the hallways (seriously people, have some manners--or pay for my room, if I have to be subjected to your entire bday party event all night long). One last thing...a dog was chirping all night long 2 doors down. Thank god I was exhausted from the hospital all day otherwise I would have been hugely cranky. Only suggestion would be put dogs and big parties on one floor and quarantine them there. LOL Thank you Hyatt Place for a fantastic stay. Recommend to all!!
